Your local floor sanders in Harborne and Edgbaston
Harborne and Edgbaston have some of Birmingham’s finest period homes, from Georgian and Victorian villas in Edgbaston to Victorian and Edwardian houses throughout Harborne. Their floors deserve careful work, and that is what we provide.
We restore original pine and pitch pine floorboards, parquet entrance halls and solid oak floors, as well as refinishing newer floors in modern apartments and extensions. For older floors we always repair before we sand, using matched reclaimed timber, and we sand only as much as needed to give a flat, clean surface.
Our work in the area
- Period floorboard restoration with sympathetic repairs
- Parquet hallways relaid, sanded and sealed
- Oak floors refinished in lacquer or hard wax oil
- Staining to achieve a particular colour or match existing joinery
- Maintenance for offices, practices and university buildings
We use dust extracted belt sanders and low odour water based finishes, so work in occupied homes and offices is as tidy as possible.

An excellent job by Roy and Chris on our floors at St Anne's Church Hall in Moseley. They sanded and levelled the floor, repaired floorboards, fixed parquet blocks back down and finished it in lacquer. The difference is like night and day.

Our floors were in pretty bad shape after other trades had broken several boards. Roy and his son repaired, replaced and finished them and they all look great. Best of all, they took real care and did not leave a mess.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work on listed or period properties?
Yes. We take a careful, conservative approach on older floors, repairing rather than replacing wherever possible. Check with your conservation officer if your home is listed.
Can you work in apartments?
Yes. Our dust extraction and low odour finishes make sanding in flats and apartments practical.
Can you refinish an oak floor without changing its colour?
Yes. We can use finishes that keep the natural look of the oak, and we test first so you can see the result.
